Amazon A+ content
Amazon A+ content image sizes for every Basic and Premium module (2026)
Last verified: October 28, 2026. Sources: Amazon Selling Partner API documentation and Amazon's A+ content design guide.
- Most Basic A+ modules need images of at least 300 × 300 px. The two wide banners need 970 × 600 or 970 × 300 px.
- Premium full-width modules need 1464 × 600 px for desktop and 600 × 450 px for mobile.
- Each image should be 2 MB or smaller.
This page covers Amazon A+ content (also written "A plus content") for products sold by brand-registered sellers, not KDP book A+ content. Rules for the listing images above A+ are on Amazon image requirements.
What size are Amazon A+ content images?
Amazon A+ content images have a minimum size per module. It ranges from 135 × 135 px (four-image quadrant) to 970 × 600 px (header image) for Basic A+, and up to 1464 × 600 px for Premium A+.
These are minimums. Amazon crops your upload to the module's shape, so a larger image at the same aspect ratio works. Amazon's SP-API troubleshooting page says crop minimums are checked against the module's minimum size and aspect ratio.
What are the Basic (Standard) A+ module image sizes?
Basic A+ has 12 image modules, and their minimum image sizes are in the table below (source: Amazon SP-API, A+ content examples).
| Module (Seller Central name) | API name | Minimum image size (px) | Aspect ratio | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Company Logo | StandardCompanyLogoModule | 600 × 180 | 10:3 | |
| Image & Light/Dark Text Overlay | StandardImageTextOverlayModule | 970 × 300 | ≈3.2:1 | Headline up to 70 characters, body up to 300 |
| Image Header with Text | StandardHeaderImageTextModule | 970 × 600 | ≈1.6:1 | The “banner” most sellers mean |
| Multiple Image Module A | StandardMultipleImageTextModule | 300 × 300 | 1:1 | Highlight image |
| Single Left/Right Image | StandardSingleSideImageModule | 300 × 300 | 1:1 | |

| Comparison Chart | StandardComparisonTableModule | 150 × 300 | 1:2 | Up to 6 columns (products) |
Three Basic modules hold text only and need no image: Standard Text, Product Description and Tech Specs.
Two values differ between Amazon sources. Amazon's Standard A+ Module Templates PDF lists Four Images & Text at 200 × 200 px and the sidebar image at 350 × 175 px. The table uses the newer SP-API values, because the API rejects a crop below its minimum. Images of at least 220 × 200 px, and at least 350 × 175 px for the sidebar, meet both sources.
What are the Premium A+ module image sizes?
Premium A+ full-width modules need 1464 × 600 px images for desktop and separate 600 × 450 px images for mobile. Smaller Premium modules range from 200 × 225 px to 800 × 600 px (source: Amazon SP-API, A+ Premium modules).

Three Premium modules hold text only: Text, FAQ (2 to 5 items) and Tech Specs (4 to 16 specs). The video modules are listed for completeness; Product Aura does not make video.
What size are A+ images on mobile?
Premium full-width modules take a separate mobile image of at least 600 × 450 px. Amazon's public documentation does not say how Basic modules are resized on mobile, so this page states only the Premium rule.
Design the mobile image as its own composition rather than a crop of the desktop banner.
Why do A+ images look blurry on mobile?
A+ images look blurry when they are uploaded at the bare minimum size, compressed heavily, or carry small text that the mobile layout shrinks. Amazon's A+ content design guide says to avoid embedding text in images so mobile shoppers can read it, and caps each image at 2 MB.
Uploading at 2× the minimum, at the same aspect ratio, keeps edges sharp on high-density screens. PNG keeps text in images crisper than JPEG.
What file size and format do A+ images need?
Each A+ image must stay under 2 MB, in JPG, BMP or PNG, in RGB colour (not CMYK), at 72 dpi or more, and not animated, according to Amazon's A+ content guidelines in Seller Central. Product Aura keeps every A+ file under 2 MB.
Amazon's API asks for PNG when it cannot read a file: its error says to "save the image in PNG format and upload again" (SP-API troubleshooting).
How many modules can Amazon A+ content have?
Basic A+ content allows up to 5 modules per ASIN, and Premium A+ content allows up to 7.
Both numbers come from Amazon's A+ content design guide. Through the API, Amazon caps any content document that contains a Premium module at 7 modules and sets no cap on Standard-only documents (SP-API troubleshooting). The Seller Central limit of 5 Basic modules is the rule to plan for.
Can you put text on A+ content images?
Amazon advises sellers to avoid embedding text in A+ images, so mobile shoppers can read every detail on a small screen.
A+ modules have their own text fields with character limits. Three of the most used:
- Image Header with Text: headline 150 characters, body 6,000.
- Image & Light/Dark Text Overlay: headline 70 characters, body 300.
- Comparison Chart: metric text 250 characters.
Product Aura's A+ pack keeps on-image text short: a headline of up to 6 words and at most 3 lines per module, and one lifestyle module with no text. Longer copy belongs in the module text fields, and you can choose to leave every image without text: each module then keeps a calm, empty area, and you get the text to paste into those fields.
What text and claims does Amazon allow in A+ content?
Amazon's A+ content guidelines reject content with any of these, in the images or the text:
- Comparisons with competitors, however they are named ("others" included). Comparing your own products, or categories such as LED and halogen bulbs, is allowed.
- Rankings and boasts such as "#1 rated", "top-rated" or "best-selling", and satisfaction guarantees.
- Environmental claims such as "eco-friendly", "biodegradable" or "compostable".
- Awards older than 2 years; awards and certifications without the awarding body and year in the text.
- Prices, discounts, "free", "buy now", shipping details, warranties and off-Amazon contact details.
- Time-sensitive words such as "new", "latest" or "on sale now" (allowed in the Brand Story only).
- More than one brand logo, watermarks, or small text that is unreadable on a phone.
In the text, Amazon also asks you to spell out numbers under 10, use serial commas, capitalise headers and avoid all-caps strings. Product Aura's A+ pack leaves out any line with the words above and never makes a comparison with another brand.
Amazon's rule for photorealistic AI-generated people also applies to A+ content (News_Amazon announcement). The details are under AI image rules for Amazon.
Who can use A+ content and Premium A+?
Basic A+ content is available to sellers with a Professional selling plan who are enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. Premium A+ is available to registered brands that meet extra criteria (A+ content design guide).
What are the Premium A+ eligibility criteria?
Amazon's public seller guide says only that Premium A+ is for "registered brands that meet certain criteria". Amazon does not list the criteria on a public page, so this page does not state them.
Can you use A+ content without Brand Registry?
Only for generic products. Amazon's A+ content page lists two ways in: a Professional selling account with a Brand Registry role on the brand, or listing generic products.
How do you make A+ images at the right size?
Product Aura's A+ pack makes 5 to 7 modules from the same product photo as your listing images, in the order top listings in your category use, each at twice its module size.
- Upload one product photo and pick the Amazon A+ content pack.
- Choose Premium (2928 × 1200 px files for 1464 × 600 modules) or Basic (1940 × 1200 px for 970 × 600 and 1940 × 600 px for 970 × 300).
- Download the ZIP and upload each file to its module in A+ Content Manager; no cropping needed.
Product Aura does not make separate 600 × 450 px mobile images yet; it keeps text and product away from the edges so a mobile crop still reads. The platform checklist on each set flags an image under 970 px wide. Start with the Amazon A+ content generator.
