Image generation MCP server for product listing images: Product Aura in Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP client

What is the Product Aura MCP server?

The Product Aura MCP server lets an AI assistant run the whole listing-image job: add a product photo, plan the shots, generate the set, check it against the platform's rules, edit any image with a sentence, and hand you the download links. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that lets AI applications call external tools. The server runs on the same code as the Product Aura web app and the API and CLI.

What can you do with it from chat?

From chat you can generate a full Amazon, A+, Etsy, Shopify or social ad image set from one photo, edit any image with a sentence, sort products into folders, and get download links, without opening the web app. For example: “Make an Amazon set for this water bottle, with German text.” The assistant creates the product, shows you the shot plan and its credit cost, generates after you agree, and shows the previews.

Which tools does the server have?

The server has 17 tools. Only three of them spend credits.

Do long generations block the chat?

No. generate_image_set returns at once, and the assistant checks progress with get_image_set, so no tool call waits for minutes. A set takes about 1–3 minutes.

Can the assistant see the images?

Yes. get_image_set returns small previews of the finished images, so the assistant can review them and suggest edits.

How do you connect the Product Aura MCP server?

Add https://productaura.co/api/mcp/account as a remote MCP server or custom connector in your client, then sign in with your Product Aura account when asked.

How do you add it in Claude?

In Claude, open the connector settings, choose to add a custom connector, paste the server URL and add it. Then click Connect and sign in. Team and Enterprise owners add custom connectors in the organization settings. See Claude's help center for the current menus.

How do you add it in Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code?

In code editors and terminals, add the remote URL in the client's MCP settings. In Claude Code:

How do you add it in ChatGPT?

In ChatGPT, add the server URL as a custom app or connector where your plan allows it (developer mode), and sign in when asked.

What if my client does not support sign-in?

Use an API key instead: create one in Settings → API keys and connect to https://productaura.co/api/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer pa_…. For clients that only run local servers, use the CLI's built-in bridge:

Is the Product Aura MCP server free?

Connecting is free, and so are all tools except the three that make images. Generating, editing or remaking an image spends credits from your balance at the normal rate: 1 credit for one 2K image. New accounts get 20 free credits with no card. On https://productaura.co/api/mcp, list_packs works without an account, so an assistant can explain the packs and prices before you sign up. No account and want to pay right away? Buy credits with a card: the page after payment shows an API key for https://productaura.co/api/mcp, and buy_credits gives an assistant the same links.

How do sign-in and security work?

The server uses OAuth sign-in, following the MCP authorization spec (based on OAuth 2.1). Your assistant never sees your password, and you can disconnect it at any time in Settings → Connected assistants. Each account has a rate limit, and the assistant is told to show you the credit cost and wait for your agreement before generating.

Which marketplaces and languages work through MCP?

Every pack in the web app works through MCP: Amazon listing, Amazon A+, Etsy, Shopify and social ads, with text on the images in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and the other marketplace languages listed by list_packs.
